Nourish retreat is an opportunity for you to come and rest and nourish your soul in the Lord and fellowship in the Swiss Alps for 7 days/6 nights from Friday June 7 - Thursday June 13, 2024. Our conference includes worship services each morning. During the afternoons, optional counseling, EMDR, spiritual direction and prayer ministry will be available and provided by professional counselors, pastors and independent member care leaders. Breakout sessions will be available and cover topics like: Singles on the field, Grief and loss, Parenting TCKs, and Ministry marriages. We planned this conference to include free afternoons and evenings for some space and time to rest, journal and reflect with the Lord in the backdrop of the serene Alps! However, there will be plenty of optional activities, counseling, and break out sessions open to you for those desiring a much needed break from cross-cultural dynamics and ministry, but also just hunger for genuine fellowship and fun!
Nourish is led by Oaks Counseling, Inc., a counseling ministry for Christian cross cultural workers living abroad. The Oaks provides debriefing and online counseling out of the Austin, TX area. We are privileged to come alongside those serving and working on the frontlines. Our Oaks’ network of counselors will be providing professional counseling, EMDR, debriefing, spiritual direction and prayer ministry at the conference. For Nourish 2024, we have also partnered with True Life Church in Round Rock, TX and Hill Country Bible Church in Austin, TX. Pastor Richard Neusch, True Life, will be one of the guest speakers. He and his lovely wife, Sylvia, have huge hearts for missions and have two grown children both living cross-culturally. Richard and Sylvia will both be available for ministry in the afternoons as well. Additionally, our worship times will be led by Hill Country's worship leader, Michael Spooner, and his wife Jana.
A children’s ministry track is available for ages K - 6th grade where they will participate in engaging curriculum specifically for TCKs. Infant and preschool childcare is available during morning sessions. Teens (7-12th grade) will join their parents in morning sessions and then have a few afternoon and evening activities available (game nights, campfires, and hikes) just for them.
During the midweek, you have the option of participating in a few different afternoon outings up in the mountains (Schynige Platte, an open historic train up the mountain, Murren/Allmendhubel playground hiking the Blumen trail via a funicular, Lake Thun Boat Cruises or Paragliding in Murren), or feel free to take that afternoon to do your own exploring! Additional costs will be required for these excursions to cover your ticket purchases at the train/ lift stations.
Nourish is hosted in breathtaking Wilderswil, Switzerland revealing gorgeous views of the Alps. Credo is within convenient access to public transportation straight from Zurich or Geneva airports. There are two payments required for Nourish 2024. First, there’s a conference fee to Oaks Counseling of $220 for a single, or $440 couple/family to cover conference costs and reserve your spot. This fee is non- refundable via PayPal (after filling in the sign up form you will be redirected to the payment area). Second, the housing fees directly payable to Credo upon arrival for 6 nights from Friday June 7- checking out Thursday June 13th including three daily meals. The fees are broken down per person as: Adult 462 CHF, Teen (12-15) 318 CHF, Child (4-11) 234 CHF, and child (under 3) free. Note: Rooms for singles will be shared due to limited space.
